Opening Story:

In European Mystery: Scent of Desire, you are called out of retirement to tackle a mysterious case of a serial killer who uses scents to claim his victim. Now, it's up to you to track him down, but be wary, he's on to you and tracks your every move. Can you stop him before he claims his next victim? General Tips for European Mystery: Scent of Desire

Difficulty - Three modes: Casual, Advanced, and Hardcore. In Casual mode the hint and skip buttons recharge more quickly and sparkles mark active zones; In Advanced mode there are no sparkles, and the hint and skip buttons take longer to load; in Hardcore mode, there are no sparkles, no hints, and no skip buttons. There's also the option to disable the interactive map, which will mark items on your map where there are actions available.

Chat Bubble - When your cursor turns into a chat bubble, it means you can talk to that person.

Magnifying Glass - When your cursor turns into a magnifying glass, it means you can zoom in and take a closer look on an area.

Hand - When your cursor turns into a hand, it means you can pick the object up and add it to your inventory, or interact with an object in some way.

Inventory -  Your inventory can be found at the bottom of the screen. Just hover your mouse over it to bring it up. To lock it in place just click on the lock at the top of the bar. 

Hints -  The hint button is found in the lower right hand corner of your screen. Click here if you're stuck. Just remember, the button takes time to charge before you can use it again.

Notes - Your notes are found in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Notes and observations that you make throughout the game can be found here.

Menu -  The menu button is located at the bottom left portion of your screen.

Navigation Arrow - When you cursor turns into an arrow, it means you go move in that direction.

Map - Your map is located in the lower left hand corner of your screen. Click on it to see locations with objectives or to fast travel to another area.

Skip -  During mini-games, if you are having trouble or maybe you just don't feel like solving it, you can click on the skip button.

Scent Catcher - Once you get the scent catcher, you will be able to use it to catch any scents and store them in your alchemy kit.

Hidden Object Scenes -  Hidden object scenes will be indicated by sparkles. Objects listed in red require and extra step in order to find it.
