I have to give the developers credit for this one... it certainly is a unique storyline. Healing the body by traveling through the dark recesses of a girl's mind with your psychic powers? If you ever wanted to know what it's like to be Jean Grey, well Surface: The Noise She Couldn't Make will certainly give you that opportunity. If you don't know who Jean Grey is... I'm not sure if we can be friends anymore... seriously... read some comics, watch a few movies... some of them were decent, except for that last one. Not sure what they were thinking.

Surface The Noise She Couldn't Make Walkthrough Intro Screen

Anyhow... Surface: The Noise She Couldn't Make is an interesting game to say the least. The graphics are quite stunning and the scenes are appropriately bizarre considering where you are supposed to be.

Flashes from the real world are made through a weird television where the obviously inept nurse will occasionally speak to you and let you know the status of Jane Doe. I say inept because... come on... she's kind of annoying. She flits all over the place without actually DOING anything... and really... while we are on the topic...why is a psychic there at all?

If you were in a coma, would you want your one hope riding on a person who supposedly has psychic powers? At one point the nurse tells you her fever broke and that it's a miracle... how about you try some Tylenol next time lady...

Despite some of my issues with these minor annoyances, I did actually really enjoy the game as a whole. It was definitely different, and for that I appreciate the developers going out on a limb and not imprisoning me in some insane asylum or haunted house. The fact that we don't know if the girl is victim or villain also gives the plot an extra dimension of suspense that added to the overall excitement of the game.
