When I was about 12 or so, I was enthralled with the Phantom of the Opera. I would sit for hours in my room, on the floor with my back to the heavy old wooden speakers, and listen to the soundtrack over and over again. Oh... did I say listen? I really mean sing... loudly to all the parts. Oh, how my parents must have loved that since I can't sing in tune to save my life.
There was just something about that mysterious man in a mask that captured my imagination and when my parents got me tickets to see the show on Broadway, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. I can still remember sitting there in the theater at the edge of my seat watching as the phantom swung precariously on the chandelier poised above my head. It was a moment of pure magic that I won't ever forget.
Obviously, when I saw Nightfall Mysteries: Curse of the Opera, I was immediately taken back to my musical memories of my youth, and I enjoyed that trip down memory lane enough that I had to look up and sing the Angel of Music before I wrote this post to let you know the walkthrough was complete. My husband is still staring at me in horror.
This game is the second in the series and its dark and foreboding storyline is somewhat similar to that famous opera I so loved. You take on the role of a stagehand invited to take part in Count Vladd Vansig III's opera, but soon after arriving, people begin to go missing and then their bodies start appearing.
While Nightfall Mysteries: Curse of the Opera is a bit older game, it still has the ability to provide plenty of hidden object adventure excitement, and it's part of a great franchise.
